Avalanche course
The basic avalanche course is for those who want to learn about safe snow travel and buddy rescue techniques using a transceiver, probe and shovel. The course is a combination of a theory and practictal learning out in the field in the lengt of 2 and a half day.
On Friday evening, we will have a theory session indoors. The next two days we will spend in the mountains learning to identify safe and unsafe travel options in the mountains. Part of the time outside will be dedicated to practicing a buddy rescue with an avalanche transceiver, probe and shovel.
The avalanche course is based in Narvik and the mountains close by. A car is needed, we are able to arrange co-driving among all the participants and the course instructor.

Equipment:
You need ski touring set and avalanche rescue equipment.
A possibility to rent out a full avalanche set for 300,- for the whole cousre.
Recommended prior knowledge:
No basic knowledge is expected for the basic course. For advanced avalanche courses, some experience is expected.

VIDEREGÅENDE SKREDKURS
Dette er skredkurset for deg som allerede kan en del om snø og har tatt kurs tidligere. Kurset har et større teorifokus og gjennomgår viktige metoder for å avdekke skredproblemer. Kurset foregår utendørs med ski på beina, der vi oppsøker terreng som setter våre metoder på prøve.
Kurset krever god deltakelse der diskusjoner og erfaringsdeling skaper grunnlag for læring.
Vi praktiserer flere metoder for å finne svake lag i snøen og prøver forstå prosessene som ligger til grunn.
